Be Grateful for What You Have

A twelve year old boy who was born without immunity was brought up inside a plastic bubble because he could not have touch with any human being for fear of infection.  So all those twelve years his life was totally isolated from all men.

He underwent an operation of bone marrow transplantation.  After that he was allowed to have contact with others.  When the doctors asked him what he wanted to do first?  He told that he wanted to catch hold of his mother’s hand and walk in the meadows on bare foot.

We may not realize all the blessings God has showered upon us.  We must thank God for all the good things we have received. God will bless those thankful hearts.  So let us thank God personally and as a family and in groups.

The story of the twelve-year-old boy born without immunity is indeed a touching and inspiring one. His life, confined within a plastic bubble due to the risk of infection, must have been incredibly challenging and lonely.

However, the turning point came when he underwent a successful bone marrow transplantation, which gave him the opportunity to finally experience human contact and freedom from isolation. When asked what he wanted to do first, his response was simple yet profound. He longed to hold his mother's hand and walk in the meadows on bare feet.

This simple desire highlights the importance of human connection, love, and the appreciation of the small joys in life. The boy had spent twelve years without the touch and warmth of another human being. The thought of feeling the grass beneath his feet and the comfort of his mother's hand symbolizes the beauty and significance of the simplest pleasures we often take for granted.

The story also reminds us to be grateful for the blessings we have received. Sometimes, in the busyness of our lives or when faced with difficulties, we may overlook the many things we should be thankful for. Each day is filled with countless gifts, such as the ability to see, hear, touch, and experience the world around us. We should take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate these blessings, expressing gratitude to God, both individually and collectively as families and communities.

Gratitude has the power to transform our perspective and bring joy and contentment to our hearts. By recognizing the good things in our lives and expressing our gratitude, we open ourselves to further blessings and cultivate a positive outlook.

So, let us learn from the boy's story and embrace a grateful attitude. Let us thank God for all the good things we have received, cherish the connections we have with others, and find the real joy in life.
